Treatment provided by individual departments
After reporting to out institute, patients firstly have to get themselves registered at registration counter where they are provided with OPD card and OPD number followed by they have to report in Department of Oral Medicine for initial check-up.
Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology
This is a department where patient 1st reports after visiting the hospital.
- Patients undergo initial but detailed clinical and oral examination.
- Patients are advised intraoral and skull radiographs (X-rays) that are performed in Radiology section including digital X-rays (RVG & OPG)
- Preliminary diagnosis is made and required medicines are prescribed
- Further these patients are referred from here to other respective departments depending on their clinical conditions.
- Moreover, this department also provide medicine-based treatment of various special diseases of mouth and skull like temporomandibular disorders, potentially malignant disorders, oral cancers, nerve disorders, cysts, tumours and maxillofacial infections.
Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
This speciality in general deals with all types of maxillofacial surgeries.
- Simple and surgical extractions (removal) of teeth including third molars.
- Surgical management of cyst and tumors
