Message from HOD

The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry is another interesting page completing the compendium of KSD Jain dental college & hospital. It deals with children till the age group of 13 including those with special health care needs. We have a child friendly reception area. Behaviour management as key strong Emphasis on prevention of oro-dental diseases in children by providing preventive procedures and appropriate parent and child counseling is given. We at KSD have state of the art equipment including endomotor, apex locators; intra oral camera, RVG, Obtura Obturating system and pediatric dental chairs. The department runs various school health program for underprivileged children of schools around Cossipore area. The Department faculties are dedicated in work and committed to excellence in education, patient care, scholarly activities, and are research oriented where they strive to excel. Our mission is to foster an environment of mutual respect with objectivity, through lifelong learning and free exchange of ideas to establish ethical patient care and research. The department functions with the vision to impart knowledge to students and to serve the children. Our clinical goal is to prepare students to be well trained oral health care professionals. Our research programs contribute to understanding biological, social, behavioural and clinical aspects of dental health of children. Through service we strive to improve public health through outreach programs.
